MAAT Energy

Our investment in MAAT Energy uses Pyrolysis and Dry Reforming to convert hydrocarbons and CO2 respectively into Carbon Black, Hydrogen and Syngas. Carbon Black is a very valuable rare earth mineral which is in high demand here in the US used mostly for the conductivity and antistatic properties for electronic applications. Syngas is a feedstock used to create renewable Jet Fuel (SAF – Sustainable Aviation Fuel) or renewable methanol.

Pyrolysis is a process which has been around for 60+ years, but the technology until recently has not been cost effective relative to the traditional methods. MAAT Energy’s innovative technology can efficiently produce these valuable commodities and is currently producing products at our testing facility in Petal, MS. Other products that can be produced as well, are Hydrogen and Industrial grade Carbon Monoxide. Hydrogen can be consumed as a fuel for transportation in cars and trucks, and the biogenic carbon monoxide has many industrial uses, so nothing goes to waste. As we convert exhausted CO2 into renewable products, we continue the circular use of CO2 to reduce our carbon footprint for the betterment of our communities while creating valuable affordable renewable products right here in the U.S.A.
